Chris Morante - Guitar Virtuoso

Chris Morante was born in Los Angeles into a musical family (Father a bassist, Mother a singer) and began studying classical guitar at age 8. He earned a scholarship to the Music and Arts Institute in San Francisco at age 12, to study under the world renowned classical guitarist, Jose Rey de la Torre, with whom he studied for 5 years. Chris began studying jazz and other styles at age 17, and took lessons from Howard Roberts, Jazz/Studio guitarist and founder of the Guitar Institute (now Musicians Institute) of LA. Chris has played professionally in San Diego for over 30 years with many top musicians and bands. He is a guitar virtuoso with a unique way of utilizing state of the art technology and innovative artistry. Chris pours out sweet, mellow jazz sounds as well as classic funk and rhythm and blues, and tropical grooves.

I’ll be gigging with Chris a lot, and loving it every time. Come see us!
